Coach Kim
Kimberly Farina was born and raised in the Southern part of Los Angeles in the communities of Bellflower, Norwalk, Whittier and Paramount. Coach Kim started playing Bobby Sox softball at a very young age. In middle school, she started to play basketball and volleyball. She ended up being a 4 year, varsity athlete in all 3 sports. She received numerous accolades during her high school career including All CIF honors, ALL league teams, and tournament MVPs.

Coach Kim briefly played volleyball in college. She found herself burned out and not wanting to focus on sports anymore. However, in hindsight, she lacked the critical guidance needed at this time to think through things and likely would have made a different decision. Coach Kim credits a lot of her success in life to the lessons she learned from sports. She never gives up, is a great teammate, takes personal responsibility, adjusts to the situation, and regularly uses her critical thinking.

Coach Kim’s son, Camden, is a highly talented right-handed pitcher from the Class of 2025, currently navigating the complexities of NCAA D1 recruiting. Through their journey, they’ve learned valuable lessons from both mistakes and wise decisions. Coach Kim is excited to share these insights with your family to help guide your son or daughter in turning their athletic dreams into reality.
Coach Kim has a Bachelor of Communication from CSULB, a Master in Business Administration from Westwood College, and a Juris Doctor from Southwestern University School of Law. She is also a certified mediator with years of experience. Coach Kim is a Contract Law professor at the University of La Verne, College of Law and Public Service. She is the current faculty advisor to the ULV CLPS Women’s Legal Society. She is also the current Chair of the ULV Faculty Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee.

Coach Kim has received numerous awards but more recently was named the 2022 ‘Professor of the Year’ for the ULV College of Law, received the 2023 ULV ‘Heart of Diversity’ award, and has received the ‘Held Commitment to Service’ Award for the College of Law 3 years in a row. Coach Kim is dedicated to helping us live our best lives and make the most of every opportunity and challenge. She is excited to spend time with you and your family to discover how we can support your athletes in reaching even greater heights, together.
Anthony Leray Smith, hailing from Louisiana, started playing sports at a young age. He was in Pop Warner football and little leagues in elementary school when he lived in the South. Moving to South Los Angeles in Junior High, sports was a necessity to stay off the streets. He played more football, leading to being a track and football star at Hawthorne High School. He received numerous accolades while in High School, and later was inducted in the Hawthorne High School Hall of Fame.

Coach Anthony then played football at Grossmont College in San Diego. While in San Diego he become involved in the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, a brotherhood where he mentors young men and is still active in today. After Grossmont, he played football at San Francisco State University under the great Coach Doug Holly. Though pro-teams were looking at Anthony – he was alone, with no agent support.

Coach Anthony
Coach Anthony knows full well how important it is to have great advice and guidance on his side. His life in sports might have been different had he had consultants or an agent to rely on. Anthony left college and opened a group home for boys, working closely with the Alameda probation department. After working in group homes, he went back to San Fransisco State to finish his degree. He then moved back to Los Angeles, working in mental health, but also finishing a Masters in Science in Justice and Administration of Securities at the University of Phoenix. He continued to work in the mental health field, coached football for two years at Hawthorne High School, and taught criminal justice classes in the evenings at Westwood College. In 2016 he transitioned to college housing at University of Southern California (USC). He is currently a building services manager and volunteers with his fraternity mentoring young men in his spare time.

Coach Anthony believes in the educated student athlete - that excels on the field, off the field, and is successful in life. As a former student athlete himself – he is dedicated to making sure students have the guidance and empowerment they need at Foothill Athlete Management. A proud girl-dad, he currently lives in the San Fernando Valley with his family.
